Baking has always been more than a hobby for Sue-Ellen — it’s a heartfelt passion that began in her family kitchen and grew into a lifelong pursuit. Her dedication and creativity led her to compete in numerous pie and chocolate competitions across Ontario, earning multiple awards and recognition for her exceptional craftsmanship.
In 2012, she proudly placed first at the Mount Pleasant Harvest Fair Pie Bake-Off, triumphing over several seasoned competitors and local bakeries — a defining moment that inspired her to turn her passion into a profession and launch Sue-Ellen’s Pies.
Since then, Sue-Ellen has expanded her offerings beyond her signature pies to include hand-rolled truffles, assorted cookies, and custom gift boxes, all crafted with the same care and quality that made her brand a local favorite.
To continue refining her skills, Sue-Ellen is currently studying Baking and Pastry Arts Management at Humber College, where she’s combining professional training with years of hands-on experience.
In November 2022, Sue-Ellen’s Pies earned another prestigious honor — Winner of the “Perfect Pie Contest” in Warkworth, Ontario for her acclaimed Meringue-Topped Pie.
From humble beginnings to award-winning recognition, Sue-Ellen continues to bake with love, creativity, and community at the heart of every pie.
